Limnology Lab (Zoology 316)North American limnology was founded at the University of Wisconsin, and I proud to be a part of the rich limnological tradition. The course overviews field and lab techniques used by aquatic ecologists, and students use these techniques to answer their own limnolgoical questions. The students produce two significant research papers through the term that fulfills their upper level writing requirement. Graduate student instructors oversee 100% of the course including: develop course curriculum, plan weekly labs, coordinate guest lecturers, and manage the annual trip to Trout Lake Station.

Introductory Animal Biology Lab (Biology 102)I had the pleasure to co-instruct four sections of introductory animal biology lab. The course overviews the 9 major animal phyla, and is largely based on hands-on observations including dissections. The students conduct independent biology experiments to explore the scientific concept. 11 other instructors and I coordinated the course of over 400 students, and I learned many aspects of teaching a large university course. Thanks to Gale Oakes for all the behind the scene help and making the class run smoothly.
